Old Shatterhand in Pursuit
Old Shatterhand is on his way to meet Winnetou. When he traverses the red desert he hears shots in the distance and investigates. But he is too late, for the parents of Ellen are dead. Although Old Shatterhand prevents the killer from also murdering the child, he cannot stop the outlaw from getting away. The westerner takes care of the young girl and is on his way to Washakie when he meets Tom 'Porky the fiddler' Norten, who not a day earlier also had the misfortune to cross paths with the 'black rider' as they call the murdering outlaw henceforth. But in Washakie, things go from bad to worse as the inhabitants of the desert town are convinced the local sheriff is the killer. Sam Hawkens is on his way west to meet his two inseperable friends when he travels through Washakie and teams up with Old Shatterhand. A short distance outside the town, Winnetou is waiting to meet Old Shatterhand.
What happened to Ellen? Is the sheriff a ruthless outlaw? Who is the ‘black rider’? Will Old Shatterhand make good on his promise to Ellen?
The Blue Rose
Old Shatterhand and Winnetou foil the plan of six Pawnees to ambush a lone traveller camped on a clearing in the middle of a small stand of trees. They overpower the attackers, and keep them captive. While sitting around the campfire, the old hunter reveals to Old Shatterhand that he is also from Germany—and that after sixteen years he is still searching for the abducted child of an aristocratic family. When they meet two Arapaho scouts, Old Shatterhand and Winnetou learn that they are on the trail of some Pawnees, who some days earlier had captured their chief’s young son, destined to die at the stake. Time is of the essence, and they ride to the Pawnee village where they make a bewildering discovery. Will they be able to save the young son of the Arapaho chief?
